Sustainable building and heritage restoration

Celtic provides heritage restoration services alongside sustainable building work for listed and historic properties.

We combine practical construction experience with an understanding of modern sustainability standards and heritage constraints.

Sustainable Building

Celtic builds greener buildings by incorporating energy-efficient materials, services and technologies into refurbishments and new builds. We work with accredited specialists to maximise efficiency and, where possible, access grants or funding.

This includes technologies such as heat pumps, solar, insulation upgrades, and efficient heating, cooling and ventilation systems.

Heritage and Listed Buildings

We have experience working with restoration architects and on listed properties, managing renovation and remodelling projects from planning through to finishing.

This covers restrictions on altering the exterior, i.e., the façade, windows, roofline, and stonework, which would be protected.

Example Project:

The Corn Exchange, Crickhowell

Celtic was instrumental in the complex refurbishment and conversion of The Corn Exchange in Crickhowell, transforming it from a historic building into new homes and opportunities for independent traders.

We took pride in helping preserve the Corn Exchange as a vital part of the Crickhowell community. Our efforts ensured the building’s heritage was protected while it remained functional for local residents for years ahead. Through supporting its restoration and careful redevelopment, we helped maintain a landmark with both historical significance and social value for the town.
